Reflections on “Beyond The Lens” – My 8th Solo Exhibition
From January 30 to February 06, 2025, I had the privilege of showcasing my 8th solo exhibition of unconventional and fine art photography at the Academy of Fine Arts (Central Gallery), Kolkata. This journey was made even more special with the launch of my book, “Beyond The Lens”, which carries forward the vision behind my photographic journey—seeking the unseen, exploring beyond the obvious, and challenging the traditional gaze.
The exhibition was inaugurated on January 30, 2025, at 5:30 PM, and I feel truly honored that the evening was graced by eminent personalities:
- Sri Goutam Ghosh, film director whose storytelling has always inspired me,
- Sri Chiranjeet Chakraborty, actor of immense depth and presence,
- Sri Hiran Mitra, painter whose bold artistic language resonates with my own creative pursuits, and
- Sri Biswatosh Sengupta, photo artist whose vision continues to enrich the photographic fraternity.
Their presence not only added grace to the occasion but also reinforced my belief that art connects across mediums, disciplines, and generations.
Over the course of the week, countless friends, fellow artists, photographers, students, and admirers of art walked into the Central Gallery. Many engaged in thoughtful conversations about my images, some shared personal reflections that my work evoked, while others quietly absorbed the visual narratives. Each interaction was deeply rewarding and reminded me why I continue this creative journey.
The book launch of “Beyond The Lens” was another milestone for me. Holding a book in hand—something tangible that carries forward my vision beyond the walls of an exhibition—was both humbling and fulfilling.
Looking back, this exhibition was not just an event, but a dialogue—between me and my viewers, between photography and other art forms, and most importantly, between what lies inside and outside the frame.
I am grateful to everyone who became part of this journey and made “Beyond The Lens” a truly memorable chapter in my artistic life.
